Mal & Zara grew up as athletes in the Comox Valley and the idea to found a non-profit together started with a conversation while hiking Ripple Rock in 2020. 

Mal & Zara were discussing their passion for athletic coaching and their desire to help empower young athletes to make choices for their mental and physical health. After the two shared their own lived experiences with coaches not listening to them, inappropriate sexual language/behaviour, and being spoken down to, Mal & Zara became driven to create a safe space for young humans/athletes 

facing discrimination to feel valued and empowered.
